Upcoming work party So here's the scoop. We have several dump truck loads of free rocks and boulders. Obviously we don't have a lot of need for help to move them... Karl's buddy Billy came through and is willing to volunteer his time and equiment to move them. Depending on WHEN the date is set (this depends on Billy's schedule) we'll be transporting them up to the pit at the end of the 8 road and maybe a few at the entrance to the Rainier Vista as a gatekeeper. Billy sounds like he knows what he's doing so once we see the rocks and set the site, plans may change. If he fits, we may skip the storage step, back up to the top of the hill and dump the load. We may also backup to the bottom of the hill and unload some of the material there as well. If we have some other heavy equipment out there the same day, we'll have a better chance to get some actually on the trail. Those of you who have or can get tractors, dozers, excavators of any size or type, please keep an eye for the date and make arrangments for favors, or whatever. This will be in the next 2-3 weeks but again, I can't confirm a date until I get a date from Billy. If anyone else has a dump truck to haul, we could make short work of the hauling process. There is a second location to possible pull from and that's the pit where all the shooters go. We'd have to dig... but if we had a backhoe or dozer working in there, at any time, we could get some rocks out, ready to move up the hill when the dump truck is available. Things are moving forward on this! A few guys with 4wd tractors, backhoes etc will help a lot. I've asked to see if we can get some logs to work with. These will probably have to come from the Gotcha. So that's where the trail rigs come in. Chain up the logs and drag them from the Gotcha to the Rainier Vista. I haven't got approval on this yet but I hope to hear soon.
