If you have hydroboost and PS but your motor stalls or the PS belts break, You have next to no control stopping or turning which is pretty scary.

I'm looking at something like this for my motorhome. Intended for Electric Vehicles so it's not a long term solution but with an enclosed front like the one I have with next to zero access to the belts, even with the motor access open, it seems like it may be a good backup plan.

Just go manual steering and brakes so you dont have to worry about hydraulics or electric systems.

Manual steering isn't an option for me since I broke my shoulder (plus I doubt it's an option for my rig) and stopping a 5 ton truck with manual brakes went away decades ago.

I already have a Ford 3/4 ton 4x4 without power steering, power brakes and it's manual trans that I can barely drive anymore since the shoulder injury and having ligaments in my left leg torn.
