I guess it's a bigger deal to you west siders to drive more than 10 miles to pick up parts if the classifieds section is any indication. I peruse there and see people whining about driving a few miles to pick shiat up when I'll drive from eastern WA to portland, seattle, spokane etc on a whim to get what I want for the right price after fuel is considered to get there and back.

Am I just weird or what? I really don't understand not wanting to take a small road trip to get a sweetheart deal. :eeek:

No ****. I chase deals all the time while others whine about a 30 minute drive.

Werd, I guess we're just a bit different. I've driven to salem OR via Portland to pick up a set of pitbull tires that I had to dismount off of beadlocks once I got there then head back north to portland to get a air compressor tank and motor, sell a bumper and after all that I gave away the tank I paid $50 for to a buddy that needed it, the motor to another buddy and got a whopping $20 in gas money for the drive from portland to salem and back. Yea I got fawked I guess but it was fun and I got to chat with people. Is that weird? :redneck:

Seriously though, I agree---there's many a time I have driven WELL more than an hour to snatch a good deal....Of course there are times I've driven quite a distance to find the deal wasn't what it was cracked up to be....but I live/I learn.:awesomework:

See I'm all about doing that if the deal is right too. Say you can get what you're looking for for 5 grand less and you have to burn a grand in fuel to get it how is it NOT worth it?


My wife and I run all over the PNW and are basically the timbercrawler express all on our own with people needing stuff here and there so we'll hop in a rig and go for a drive to help out if we have something to pick up or someone to go visit where we're heading. I guess a 300 mile drive isn't a big deal anymore. :haha:

It is a bit different here on the west side especially if you live in town...You have to think of in in terms of time....If I leave down town Seattle at certain tim'es of the day and head to Ellensberg it takes less time than if I head home to Everett....I sure as hell don't want to drive from Everett to the south end of town any time of the day where there's traffic which is nearly always.:rolleyes: If you live in a high traffic area of town you get used to the times of day when traffic is heavy and where you can or can't go. Then if your hours where you can go and do things are limited you might have to get parts shipped so you have time to go to your kids ball game..........

I dig the traffic deal, I drive through it all the time and I can't say it's my favorite thing to deal with. Seattle traffic is annoying but portland traffic makes me wanna punch babies. :mad:

I just drove down to Roseburg to pick up a Dodge dually bed for a friend of mine.. He made out pretty sweet on the deal. I didn't really make anything, but I love a good road trip :D. Plus I got to stop by and visit with Rip and see his new shop. It was a long day, but definitely worth it.

Although driving up to Everett for something is rarely worth it for anything, even if it's free.

I don't mind driving for a good deal... Sometimes it just doesn't work out and I lose a good deal, oh well... I've shipped parts and received them at times because it was easier...

we recently made like 3 trips to seattle/tac area and to spocompton once, looking for a car. two trips to yakivegas also.
i told my wife more than once that all these trips with dinners and whatnot associated, we should have just gave the first guy the extra $1500 he would not come down on, would have worked out the same...

When I lived in Mukilteo I drove from there to Onalaska for a Complete D30 front end I found on CL for $25. When I finally arrived at the place, the guy gave it to me for free.
