83 PU, single case. 4.3/TH350. Drivetrain is moved back about 4". Is a CV front shaft needed with a HP diff?

90% of the time a front CV is not needed.

In stock form the truck has a CV with the pinion pointed AT the t case flange. That is the correct application.

MOST lifted or custom rigs have some angle on the lower joint and thus a CV is not correct.

I run a LOW rig with a hi pinion front and NO cv driveline.

My rear axle however has the pinion pointed up (to slide over things, not drag pinion) at the T case flange and HAS a cv driveline.
