They are obviously meant to be sarcastic but I feel like I am missing the origin or something. Can you fill me in on it?

Basic internet culture.

If you post a pic of anything awesome and damn near perfect, only 2/10 people (that comment on it) will like it, the other 8 will nitpick, *****, and bash it. Ex: hot chick pics, awesome race car, etc

If you post something that is complete hacked up garbage, 8/10 (idiots) people that comment will say how awesome and cool it is. Ex: big gay trucks, donks, mediocre chicks in bikini.

Edit: I left out the basic principle that it's referring to the "10 scale" as in, that chick is a 1.5 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Using that sarcastically because of the nature of people on the internet

Pretty much. Sarcastically nitpicking something that's pretty much a 10 to someone not eaten up with jealous hatred of anything nice hiding behind a keyboard. Google image search it, there are some very funny ones that use some wit, this one is bland, but still got me chuckling thinking of the others
