Funny quote, but seriously.......has it actually come to that? We have a stupid mud flap law in AZ, but only for pickups. Suburbans, Tahoes, Jeeps and anything else don't have to have them. Weird.

I could not agree more. I got a speeding ticket last week for 35 in a 30 right in front of a known drug pushing apartment complex. Why mess with me ya lazy ****in bastard. I guess it's less paperwork to give me, a contributing member of society, a ticket than bust some little hood rat selling drugs. I pissed him off pretty bad when I told him it was nothing more than a source of revenue otherwise he wouldn't have a quota for how many tickets he had to write. He did not like my attitude toward his job.

This week was DOT blitz week and I got lucky enough to be off for all 3 days of it. They try and pull over as many trucks as possible and write as many tickets as possible to help justify their jobs. Of course it's only 3 days because they actually have to put in some effort for a whole day and doing that for 5 days straight like the rest of the country would be too much.

You gotta be feeling pretty lucky. Small owner operation like yours would be getting hammered up here. One of the very reasons I won't buy my own truck is because the smaller the business the more they pick on you. I bet they love an irregular load like the kind of stuff you pull around.

I fully agree clean trucks run less risk of being stopped. If you can wash it then more likely you are maintaining it too.

We haul grain to Illinois and they randomly set up scales but mostly do fuel checks. They pulled me over after running thru portables last year and put me on the side of the road. After 45 minutes I asked a cop what the deal was nobody had talked to me. He said "Oh just go ahead and leave. We got 3 trucks back here with red diesel." Thats around $10,000 fine each. I got to elevator and was 4500lbs over but the fuel was a bigger money maker for them

They check fuel around here like crazy. My dads got check in a one ton at a livestock sale barn parking lot. They where walking the line of truck waiting to unload and checking everything. It was two lady DOT and Dad over them checking one older guy where the fuel wouldn't come up in there gauge right, they said "you must have some kind of blocking device in your tank because it won't pump up" , old farmer said "hell ladies where you my age and want it to get up you just got to pull on it real hard and it'll pump up".. Both of them got red faced and walked away, old farmer was laughing his ass off
