does anybody use 5.71 gears in a toyota

im sure youll get more answers like this...but 5.71s break ALOT. id go 5.29s ...jus my opinion

5.29's are the way to go. 5.71's break because they have few teeth on the pinion that contact the ring gear so that equals less strength. Also the pinion is smaller.

5.29's and 5.71's both have the same amount of teeth on the pinion... It's all about the setup...

what size of tire? what engine/trans/t-case?

Im nowhere near a hardcore wheeler, and I managed to break a set of 5.71s in the front, with stock birfields and an open diff. Randys did the setups front and rear. The rear setup held up fine until I sold the gears off as a spare set. Hopefully that tells you something about the gears...

go 5.29's. IMO they will hold up better than the 5.71

if u havnt bought em yet.. i have a set of yukon brand 5.29s. and the trail gear creeper gear 5.29s both brand new..ill sell em for 260 shipped. was gonna use em. but im gonna keep my 4.10s for now
