I picked up a KLX110 this past weekend and have already been hot lapping it around the neighborhood.

What do I need to modify first?

Definetly needs wider pegs
Stiffer springs front and rear

Already looking at the 143cc big bore kit

THIS THINGS ARE A BLAST! booyang

Whats a good forum to start looking at?

big bar kit thumb.gif

The 4th gear shift drum is awesome too, my brother did that when they rebuilt his and it'd do 60mph on stock motor. thumb.gif

Best mod.. Just gas it and don't let out until you finish crashing.... booyang
Thats always been my aproach on Carl (My fiddy)...

Bigger bars and take all the smog crap off.
Dont do wider pegs they dig in and hurt when you crash. Been there.

What smog crap is there to remove? Airbox? Spark Arrestor?

Correct. Not shure on ur but the stock air box on a 50 is very restrictive.

Kinda ghey IMO... Yea, you can build them to be faster, have better suspension, buy 12in wheels, bigger tires.... etc... But what's the point..
Why not Just buy a big bike, if you are going to turn your pit bike into one anyway....

The true essence of the pit bike is 10in wheels, stiff shock, big bars, and MAYBE a nasty engine and exhaust....
going as fast as you can on a bike that is waaay to small and fun to crash...
But I guess Im just old skool... :flipoff1:

I like what you said and I agree, but old school is doin it on 8" wheels! LOL I have a 93 Z-50 thats almost done. I will post some pics when its done. It has a 160cc race motor and 4 speed tranny.

So I hit a Motocross track a mile down the road from the house over the holiday and WOW. This thing is fun as hell. It is pretty rough when the suspension bottoms out but hitting doubles and flying this thing through the air is SICK! I had to step up my game after my GFs 75 yr old Grandpa got on the booyang and started ripping up the track. :****:

No videos or pictures.....Ill be back out there Thursday and Ill be sure to bring the camera this time. :dblthumb:

Looks like I need to invest in some stiffer springs ;D
