Here it is plain and easy i have to full size rigs i love them to death they are both 77 one a jeep and one a ford. I drive the ford daily and as a weekend wheeler while i am building the jeep up for strictly offroad use. Personally if you are gonna be driving this thing on the street even 50% of the time i would spend the money on another rig. The fact is that when u start relying on a rig to get you home and to work on a regular basis and beat the living hell out of it the wallet is gonna get thinner and thinner just the sad truth.
If this is only a wheeler and you want a capable rig then i couldn't stress more then take your time whatever you chose it makes a huge difference in the overall outcome. IF you dont feel comfortable do sumthing ask somebody! If you want a rig that you take wheeling on the weekends and not invest alot of money then keep the fullsize parts are cheaper cause they are made here and not overseas and the big 3 made thousands of our old school trucks meaning there is plenty of spare body panels to be had for cheap. I personally would wheel a stock rig first learn the rig all its little quirks and fix all the little annoying rattles and squeks. Above all else make it completly mecahnical sound. Your axels suspension brakes and tires totaly depend on your driving style and the situations and terrian you want to get into.

show me where I can find a pair for $1400. Most places want that much for a front axle then another $800 for a rear.:wtf: Then you need wheel adapters if you want to keep your origional tire/wheel combo. Plus is it still gonna be street legal?mjp1080 said:

yea guys keep in mind thi truck will be a DD. so right now im lookin for a 350 becayse the one i was going to get gt snatched up. than im gonna look for a winch that way i can pull myself out than ill go for a couple runs to see what my truck is capable of probably get the roll cage next because i want it to be real safe. than save up for bigger axles and look for tires? how does that sound for a plan?

You are talking about taking your only way to work school wherever and beating the **** out of it everyweekend and hoping and it holds together. I have been on both sides of this spectrum u dump all this money if truck to make it kick ass off road and then u just ended up making urself an offroad truck and took away all its DD qualitys. If you want a fullsize get a fullsize but dont take your daily driver wheeling its not worth the risk.
If you are working on a tight budget and need to get to work or school daily then get a diferent rig. When you have to spend $3-500 to get replace your wheel bearings and new spindle on a sunday nite to make it to work monday morning, or when u get stuck and can't make it out or u get stcuk and blow sumthing up getting it out and what do you do then miss work and school and chill till u can pay for the new part. NO i am sorry but speaking for experience you would save yourself hrs of time and frustration and by just getting a weekedn wheeler.
