What is the cert date on the fire suit?

i don't think the suit has a date. it has this on it: SFI certified 3.2A/5

i know ultra4 doesn't require a date just that it is at least two layers, one piece and in good condition

These is a date stamped or notched on the tag, usually inside the zipper around mid torso. All required SFI certified safety gear for U4 has to be in date. Even helmets are dated, the sticker is typically in the top under the padding.

i'll look tonight. i read the ultra 4 rule book and they don't mention anything on date for the fire suit. i read speciffically 7.2.4.1

the suit is at my buddies house, i'll get it after work and post back what i find

looked all over the suit, no date found. researched at www.sfifoundation.com found out racing suits SFI 3.2/10 and higher require inspection every 5 years. so since this is a 3.2/5 suit i don't believe it will have a date.

this is directly from the ultra 4 rule book:
7.2.4.1 One-piece fire suits are mandatory. Two-piece suits are not permitted. Suits must cover from the neck to the ankles and to the wrists. The suits must not have any holes, rips, or tears, nor be worn thin. Suits must also be free from any petroleum-based contaminants. All suits must be made from fire-resistant material with the manufacturer’s fire resistant rating label attached. A minimum of a two-layer fire suit, fire resistant gloves and footwear are very highly recommended. Hammerking Productions Inc. highly recommends that each fire suit be labeled on the upper right chest with the wearer’s full name, blood type, allergies, and any other important medical information.

nothing about certification dates required.

I bought one of the suits, and this is whats on the tag. Does this mean Oct 2012 is the stamped date?

this is the email i got back:

Thank you for contacting Sparco USA! The 10-12 tag is not a date. The numbers represents the person that inspected the suit. Its an employee identification number (for quality control).
