Homemade doubler?

Good evening is there a way to piece together a doubler without having to pay 1000 for the kit? We are building a truck for my son and already have a 205

you can cut a 205 in half leaving the idler gear, plate the opening. Then mate it to a divorced 205 using a 1350 H yoke from a CV joint. That's what I did 15 years ago and it's still going. Requires the space to do it.

I did this back in 90s, but used a np 200 for the divorced case and used a 1310 ujoint in between (that didn't go well), still had leather seals in it, was a PIA to get seals locally. But it worked well behind a sm465

I've never seen it done like that, we actually have the length for that too.

the divorce mount 205 is a powerful thing...

I've got one behind a nissan tx10 that is chopped in half very much like above, the 205 is spun to the opposite drop(upside down)and has been running that way for like 6 years now. It only leaks if there is oil in it thumb.gif

The sketchytruck, it's a 80 something hardbody. Z24 and a 5 speed. 2 dana 44 fronts,Leaf front,4 link with coil springs and ranchos in the back

Here’s my Nissan, also with a 205 - but married via an NWF doubler.

The tx10 is a pretty beefy case, especially for the gutless engines it was behind.

It's done well even in the hacked up state that mines in. Always liked ya pathfinder :dblthumb:
