I would like to run d60s under a yj with 39.5x13.50 iroks and still be street leagle ....what is the MINIMUM I would have to narrow them to be able to accomplish this ...the wider the better so please don't reply to narrow them to Dana 35 width
Thanks

well if you want any turning radius with those leafs and tires, you wont be able to narrow it all that much. I ran a dodge 60 (67") with my leafs outboarded an inch on each side with those exact tires on 4.5" spaced wheels. I dont remember having all that much room before I would have rubbed on my leafs

I'm not planning on running leafs if all goes right it will be on coilovers all the way around

Depends on what dana 60s you are starting with and what wheels. If you are 80" outside of tire to outside of tire, you are legal for all the trails in the state.

This.

You can be as wide as you want (within reason) and still be "Street Legal" as long as you have the proper tread coverage (flares and mud flaps). If I was building for a Street Legal, Drive-to-the-trail type rig and wanted to open up maximum wheeling possibilities, I'd shoot for the 80" rubber to rubber, which can be controlled a large part by wheel and tire choice.

this is with factory h1 wheels (something like 7" bs) i measure around 75.5" with the h1 37's tire to tire, factory width chevy dana 60 (69.25 wms or something close to that). The only problem you run into (like i am) is that with this offset your hub on the 60 will protrude further out than anything else. With warn hubs i'm around 79.75" hub to hub, and with the factory lockouts it is 77.5" hub to hub. I am running leaf springs in the factory chevy location and with the h1 37's i have about 2" clearance to the leafs with the steering on the bump stop.

here's a good pic of the warn hubs.

i know its a toyota, but it will give you an idea of how narrow you can actually get them without narrowing the axle.

If thurday's measurements are acurate, then 2" spacers on each hub combined with the above would be tits and no custom work. If you change wheels and go with an H2 or other 5" BS rim, you'd be about the same without the spacers.

For some reason I want to say something off (or maybe its the factory Goodyears he's running). When I did the math a couple years ago, I came up with something like 65" or so wide combinded with H2's and 13.5 Irocs to be right at 80/81".... but its been a while.

If you start with a Dodge front then you'll be 2" narrower to start, and the spring's centers are only like 1" wider over all.

Is it dsw hubs or something like that smaller...I remember seeing something a long time ago about them hubs in combination with h1s

Srw chev front with h1s, 2" wheelspacers and skinny tires will be 80" with no cutting and welding.

i would say my measurements are within 1/2", measured it by myself and i got a walnut for an eye every now and then :)

I have h2's on my duramax...i should really swap them over and take a measurement. I really like h2's and would love to run them if i can stick around 80-82" with swampers. Anyone know an H2's backspacing?
