looking to buy a single toyota case loose, the guy says it has a 4.7 reduction. I want to beleave the guy but you never know these days, how can i tell just by looking at it?

can you count the number of revolutions? for every one turn on the input you should have 4.7 on the output?

sorry I put it backwards... :hi: the point is turn one count the other.:awesomework:

Depending on who the gears are from the input shaft is engraved on the end. At least my Marlin crawler gears were. It said "MC 4.70". I don't remember of tg gears have any makings.

One easy way to tell is to look I. The bottom of the case to see if it ground away to clear the gearset. That is if you want to take it apart. lol
