never used hydro assist and need to know if all I need is a tapped steering box, or if I need orbital valve and tapped box????? :dunno: if I just need a tapped box does anybody around Chattanooga, south pittsburg, middle tn area have one willing to sale or both if were to need them? in desperate need :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin:

You will need a tapped steering box, ram, and lines. I would highly recommend adding a bigger reservoir and definitely a cooler to the system as well.

I've had good luck with Trail Gear's hydro assist kit. Check the vendor section for XRR. He has one in stock at a good price.

If you have a good box, I can tap it for you, if you want.

10-4 wats the best way to do that

put the front axle on jack stands

turn full lock one direction

put a mark on the tie rod (in line with a reference point that is easy to measure)

turn full lock the other direction

measure how far the mark moved.

buy a ram that is close to that measurement

make and install spacers to limit the travel of the ram to what you need.

FYI pretty much any ram at tractor supply will be too big/bulky to easily use for hydro assist on a yota.

Something like this will be better http://www.surpluscenter.com/Hydraulics/Hydraulic-Cylinders/Double-Acting-Hydraulic-Cylinders/1-5X6X1-DA-HYD-CYL-SWIVEL-EYES-9-7258-6.axd
