I am working on the steering box mount for the truck Subota , and am wondering how I should go about the bolt through.
I currently have a mounting plate cut out, that will be tied into several tubes and the front spring hanger.gussets and all that jazz.
Should I still plan on making a backing plate and bolting through?(which is going to entail clearancing tube and welding to it with through spacers)

Or , since it would be tied in several places , Jusst drill the mounting plate and weld nuts on the back of it.
This is a hydro assist system so WAY less stress than just power/mechanical steering. I am going to take some pics this afternoon so I will update in a bit .
cheers

pics added

When welded in place, and tied into tubes 1&2.

I also have the option of using long tapped tubing behind the mounting plate that could be tied into the rest of the plate mounts when boxed in,here is a pic of those.

So I would just weld these to the back of the mount plate, and tie in where I could. Total thread length interior is about 2inches.
cheers
