Similar story for me...adopted at 6wks; never knew my bio parents....haven't even been real curious, other than possibly knowing any potential hereditary medical issues....It'd be nice to know for that reason, but as far as I'm concerned, I know who my parents are....the ones that raised me!:; Would it be nice to know them, and if they're receptive to a friendship, sure...but I would not be looking to rekindle anything familywise....

I had a great talk with my wonderful wife last night, she is very supportive of any avenue I take on this.

Still waiting to hear back from my ex...she has had 24 hours now.

I'm kinda living in limbo right now, semi shocked.
Starting to get a bit of anger if this plays out that she hid him from me....

But bottom line is, as of yet I still don't know anything.

I want to thank you guys again for your support...

I can't imagine why a response wouldn't take more than 30 seconds unless she's hiding something from you... unless of course she sent the e-mail and hasn't checked again since then.
 
Think back, to approximately where she should have been, about the time the kid was born. If you can locate her residence, you can hypothosize where the kid might have been born. Then contact the local courthouse, and look up the birth certificate.

Just an idea.

If my name is on the certificate as the father, then I have a lawfull right to a copy. I know what county she was living and could make a trip.

In all honesty, I would perfer that she tell me....and him.

I'm kind of thinking that the longer it takes, the more likely it is.

Prolly going to let the weekend pass before I persue futher. That gives her the chance to chat with her hubby and process her thoughts.

And gives me a chance to process mine.
 
Follow-up..

After 4 days I finally got a response from my ex. She flatly denies that she had a kid from me.

She then went on to tell me everything she thought I did wrong and pointed out what a POS I was/am.

Nothing like 27 years to soften the hatred.:haha:


I kind of doubt I'll take her word for it.
I will still look into the possability of a kid until I am satisified there is not.

That sounds like bull****. Denies it then makes it about you after all this time. I would not believe her either.
 
I took the high ground.

I responded with a...

"Sorry to have bothered you."
then put a slight dig by sending my favorite "clean" pic of my wife.:D

It's not unreasonable to assume she slept with guys after you, but before she got remarried (perhaps even with the same guy she eventually did marry). That union would have produced a child, which would have your last name (as she was still known by that last name).

Only DNA will tell for certain.

Why would a woman who apparently hates her ex husband not revert to her maiden name as part of the divorce?
 
It's possible that she may have made up this peraon to cheat on taxes or something like that......I know people who have done this before (not me).:rolleyes:

A: Yes. Make up a social security number and claim it as a dependent.

My prior wife kept her married name, and did not revert to her maiden name. She felt changing names is a PITA. However she did change it to my last name upon marriage.
