• Help Support Hardline Crawlers :

Inverters

4.5 KW 220 volt LPG powered genset, two 4D batteries and a solar panel for passive backup (for my cabin in the spring) That way I can run whatever I want and not have to worry.

Sounds like an awesome setup!!

I have a power inverter for smaller stuff, but why not get efficient 12 VDC stuff to start with? Bypass the (hungry) middleman.

If I didn't have anything already, I would probably buy 12v stuff. It wouldn't really be cost effective at this point, replacing my 32" 110v TV with a 32" 12v TV is almost the same amount as a 2000w inverter.

Finally picked up the panels today. I didn't know what brand they were or anything, but they are US made and look to be good quality.

What did you end up doing? Did the panels work good?
I've been slacking and haven't got around to installing them.

I got the 6v batteries installed. As of now I'm planning on going with a Blue Sky MPPT charge controller and the Xantrex 2000w inverter JayW posted in this thread.

Been thinking about options for mine too, probably going to go with one of those ultra quiet Hondas. Need to sell my monster generator first.
