I decided to be a Good Samaritan today.

I was at the Milton Safeway and saw a Honda Fit trying to jump start a 6.7 Powerstroke. It wasn't working and I happened to be driving my truck, so I decided to help.

I connected the cable to the "jumper junction". On Duramax, there is a junction between the the 2 batteries and the starter where you can connect jumper cables. Anyways, this didn't work at all. Even after waiting a few minutes. I had a multimeter and it would only show 8v at the fords battery and slowly build up to 11.5v. When they tried to start, the voltage dropped down to 8v.

On a whim, I connected the cables to the 1 battery I have with extended bolts. (Post-less batteries). The voltage at the ford battery jumped right up to 14v and it started after 1 minute.

Maybe a bad ground?
