This year was a "whirlwind" trip for me. I flew in and hit the lakebed on Thursday morning with my 8 yr old daughter. I had to have her in Palm Springs that eafternoon so we didn't get to spend as much time there as we wanted. I ended up driving back to Johnson Valley at six AM the next morning.
That's when I learned that the Grand Cherokee that I had rented was only 2WD! I didn't even know that they offered a 2wd version! With liberal use of the throttle and skid plates it got around ok. I still ended up hiking my ass. I had to be in Yuma by 9pm so I headed out of JV around 4pm.
Unforunately that didn't allow me any time to get some wheeling in or hang out with anyone, but I did get a few pics.
