I used to shoot out in Granite falls but was informed by a local deputy that it's no longer allowed due to people shooting down trees and leaving garbage. Got a couple new AK's I want to shoot and ranges aren't my thing.

Go up to Marysville gun range by lake ki.

This place is only open on Thursdays unless you are a member.

If you dont mind the drive, south skagit is a good spot to go. Its a nice drive too. Try FS17, plenty of spots to just pull of and let them fly. There is a few pits up there too. If you google map it you will see.

Ask him to show you a copy of the county ordinance stating that it is illegal to shoot there.

Be polite.

So it's legal to shoot there?

there is all sorts of good ranges on casino rd in Everett. all outdoor, just watch out for crossfire. :D

there is a few places on the backside of lake Cavanaugh out of oso that are legal to shoot as well.

Like Maverick said, south skagit. I use to take lower finney, there is a horse shoe gravel pit with a picnic table i would go to.

It is illeagal to shoot in town of granite falls, but not if you go outside of town...
Look at county codes...I shoot regularly out here..I have several types of firearms never been hasseled. I have watched rangers bust people down the rd from us shooting as I am going thru rounds...
There is certain areas that are closed areas but most will be labeled...for instance as you enter green mountain people miss read the sign thinking there is no shooting..what sign says is don't be stupid!!! No shooting across waterways,no shooting towards houses,no shooting etc...you understand what I'm getting at..you must have a good backstop area,no shooting at trails,or trailheads etc..
Funny I have worked closely with most of the deputies out here, and they all see I'm carrying, and never have I gotten any flack..most of them will ask if they can pop a round or two..like I said be smart, and legal..even in the woods their is a proper way to shoot..:D
Also clean up after, and no body in law enforcement is gonna be happy seeing you logging with an AK...bring your own targets

I always follow the rules and clean up after myself and even pick up what other shooters left behind. I use paper targets because that's what a Ranger in the area said was allowed. At the time I didn't even have my AK's, just a couple of my pistols and my AR. The deputy said he could've given me a $500 ticket but decided to give me a warning instead. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to shoot but will eventually when I find a place that's legal.
