I'll be heading down to Medford for work next week and I'll have half a day to kill. Any suggestions on things I gotta see or go do in the area? How about dinner? Any good brewpubs or places I can't miss while I'm down there?

In laws live in the area. A killer town to check out is Jacksonville, its about 5 miles west of medford. Old west feeling and great food. Also great music venue.Medford on the other hand sucks.

I've got family in Grants Pass, about a 40 minute drive north on I-5.

If you like Pizza find an Abby's Pizza, I love that place.

Not sure if they are open currently but there's the Oregon Caves which are cool, they are a bit commercialized now but can still be neat to check out.

I don't spend much time in Medford it's the 'big city' of the area and brings the suck.

You can also check out the Rogue River, if you only have a half a day you can do a Jet Boat ride. Hellgate.com they have been operating out of Grants Pass for 50 years now.

As for brewpubs I'm not much help, we drink mostly cheap beer when I'm down there. :redneck: But Wild River is in Grants Pass and they brew and have a decent food menu. http://www.wildriverbrewing.com/

I also forgot about the "R" House, its spendy but if you want a good dinner its a great place to eat, especially if you'll have the wife or gf with you.

If you do go out to the Oregon Cave's or just want a damn good breakfast stop at Taylor's Sausage in Cave Junction.

Cave Junction is a **** hole with a bunch of 100% grade A white trash and druggies, so I never stay there long. But Taylors is where my family down there takes all their deer, elk, etc to butcher and they make some great food in their diner.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have to see where I end up. It'll just be me, and work is covering the food and lodging, so I may be having some big meals.

Which way are the caves? I'll have to google those before I leave.
