Yup, My dad came across a 47 willy's truck from a friend of his in trade for some fab work... He thought about it and decided that its going to take to much work to build it road and or trail worthy.. Told me he wants to sale it and I flipped.. So payments it is and I will be the owner of a 1947 Willys with in the next few months, Have other (people) bills to pay off first...:D

The goods...

It has a 1958 Vette 283 V-8 that is built and high strung...

And a Painless wiring harness (not finished wiring in)

lol.. Thats about it so far....

The bad...

Stock 3 speed & case...

Stock Dana 28 closed knuckle front end and the Timken (sp?) Rear....

I would like to go with 3/4 ton drive train to start with..

I need some tech help on the wiring.. A old man orginaly owned it and passed away. Friend of my dads ended up with it...

Looking for window cranks, glass all the way around, It has all the glass, ORIGINAL glass at that...

So any Willy Truck owners? Iam in need of as much info as You can dish out...:awesomework:

Seems like there was a guy trying to sell one in kit form on here a while back for like $300 up in bonny lake IIRC might do some searches. Also Omix ada is a great parts source for the early stuff

Thanks Jim..:awesomework:. I have a feeling this build is going to make Gibbys n yours look like a week long project...:haha:

No problem. Mine is actualy ready to drive out of the shop and onto the trailer as soon as I make a appointment for the exhaust. Been running it off and on all day checking systems. Neighbors probably hate me now (open headers) :haha:

Right....:awesomework:

This is going to take some time... Iam thinking about a 56 that I know of to build into a truggy low slung linked wheeler... just need to work for awhile and collect parts... I dont care how long it takes ... I know how I want it to be and its not going to be a slap together beater...:awesomework:

Iam dont with the cheap quick cherokar builds.... Although, the thought of using a 4.0L in it is a idea....:redneck:

Looks like it is going to be a sweet ride :awesomework:

Iam hoping so... It has a painless wiring set up but like said in first post, the guy who was installing it, passed away before he finished and who know's where the instructions are.. i found some on the first link Pokey posted, but at 41 pages long, who wants to print that out for me for FREE?:redneck: ...

I will post some more pics here soon... Needs some fire wall work done since the V-8 isnt stock... think a SM420 would be nice to... :awesomework:
