Subject: Little Naches Closed

Good morning - We would like to have your help in getting the message out to the public that a very popular recreation area will be closed over the Memorial Day weekend and until conditions warrant opening trails. Some of you may get this message more than once and we apologize for that but we're searching all lines of communications to get the message out. We will have a map of the closure order posted on our website. http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/wenatchee/naches Thanks, Doug

Little Naches Drainage Closed

For Immediate Release
(Naches Ranger District, Naches, WA.) The Naches Ranger District announced today that much of the Little Naches River drainage, a popular recreation destination, will be closed to motorized entry through Memorial Day weekend and perhaps later. Lingering winter weather, heavier than normal snow pack, wind thrown trees, and very wet or snow-covered roads and trails prompted the closure.

Isnt this the same thing they where saying last year?:masturbanana[1]:

It was open and the snow wasnt that bad at all.

We were camping up at Crow Creek this weekend and the rangers came by and handed out flyers that the whole drainage and all roads and trails linked to it would be closed until further notice. They also informed us we were in a closed area although there were no signs stating this. The little Naches Road will be open from 410 to the junction at Ravens Roost only. The Little Naches campground and Kaner flats campgrounds will be open. It also stated that the roads and trails would be heavily enforced. It starts Tuesday morning. There are more down trees than I have ever seen over there also.

We went up right after MD 2 years ago and the place was torn up. While the snow wasn't bad, a few asshats couldn't make it so they went around in untracked areas. The ground was so saturated that it left huge ruts. It looked like they might have been stuck there too and winched off of some of the small trees around the meadow.

It wouldn't surpise me if the Forest Service has the areas closed just to keep a few ill-equipped assholes from tearing the place up.

This is exactly why the land management companies are seriously looking into "Seasonal Closures" AKA: No wheeling until JULY and then stopped again in OCTOBER!

It's "the few" that cause the land management orgs/companies to make drastic decisions such as CLOSURES.

If any "asshats" are reading this: be warned that your actions can and WILL be used against all of us! :looser: :looser:
