need more tranny info

Alright, Apparently there were two trannys offered in the 93 ZJ's. The AW4 and some kind of A500? Anyone know how I can figure out which one it is? Vin number? build date?

Should be AW4. If it's a LATE '93 it could be 42RE. The AW4 has a completely rectangular pan and removable (bolt-on) bellhousing. The AW4 dipstick also goes into the side of the pain, instead of into the top of the transmission housing like the 42RE.
