NP 231-Dana 300 Doubler

Don't know why you'd want to.:eeek: A D300 is a replacement for the weaker NP231......not an addition. Not saying you can't, just saying you shouldn't. And SWB Jeeps would have to be heavily moddified (read: stretched WB) to accommodate.

If you want 300:1 ...... get a Yota.

In all reality with the 300 being so short the doubler only ends up a couple inches longer than the stock setup. A little bit of stretch which in all reality most anyone wanting a doubler has already done a stretch so that's a moot point. :D

its not too long and you actually get slightly more gearing with a 231 to a 300 with 4:1's in it.
toy- 2.28x4.7= 10.71
231/300- 2.7x4.0=10.80

ok, so its negligable but you can do front digs with a 300, have to use a silly driveline disconnect on a yota.
my buddy is building one to go behind a blown 4.8 chevy/nv4500 combo so he will test the strength.
just my .02

Sorry, I should have said that I'm stretching the wheel base by approx 6 inches. So that shouldn't be much of an issue. Just trying to figure out if its worth the money.

I was gonna do it, but sold it and just did a D300 with a 4 to 1. Simpler. It you do buy it make sure you support both the trans and the rear case or you will break the doubler.

I *might* have one for sale. Still some assembly work to be done, but might save you some $$ vs. buy all new.

I think I was looking for $700-$800 for it. That gets you a 231, DD adapter and a D300, mocked up but not cut and welded yet.

both a 23 and 21 spline input come with.

You are clueless.

The 231 crawler only uses the planetary from the 231. It is plenty strong, the weak chain is eliminated.

The 231/300 combo is 1" shorter than the stock 231. It fit easily in my SOA wrangler with the rear axle moved back only 1".
