I think its a Warn 8274, I cannot find a S/N. Got it from an older fellow that said its been in his garage for 20 years and he had it for years before that. Anyone recognize it?

Not a bad find for $30

I don't think it's an 8274...Looks a lot like one of its predecessors, the 8267, or 8205, or 5687. The more rounded edge of the non-motor end hints me to that...Are there a couple open slots in that same end? also, most 8274's only had 2 mounting holes on the gear case, both of mine do...

Depending on what you need, I've got the one that came to my Cruiser bolted to my old trailer that I don't use. It doesn't look pretty, but it was mechanically OK inside last time I used it, so it would probably be good for spare parts.

I did a rebuild on mine. :redneck:power in/out instead of power in only,
an Albright contactor(is able to literally run under waterr because it is a sealed unit), new bearings.etc....

Oh yeah, the serial number should be on top of the main casing. Some of them had stickers that get pretty Warn.:fawkdancesmiley: But should still have some type of marking.
cheers
