That's a 22re under the hood dude :flipoff: Not that the spark plug wires give it away or anything. :haha: :;

I dont even get the point of that movie? First off thats a 85 its a striaght axle to start. And are u seriously debating if thats a desiel or 22re......:haha: Um SPARK PLUG WIRES mite be the first clue, or the or so common red decal on the valve cover that adorns all toyota motors, or maybe That it sounds like a thrown rod not like a good running motor

Just cause it's not IFS doesn't mean it's not an '86. It could very well be stock, other countries were still getting solid axles up til just recently. :flipoff:

hey it can be a gasser and still sound kinda like a desiel. Mine did till I put a different motor in....And as far as being an 86 with a straight axle, completely doable. There's been a few 87's (factory straight axle)that have been in to a local shop here in monroe to have work done. Also straight axles were readily avail outside of North America till atleast 97

sounds to me as if the guy's got a bad motor:haha:

Its an auto too.

EDIT: What kinda PSI are those cheapy plastic universal fuel filters rated for like he's using? What kinda pressure does the stock EFI system see? Seems kinda sketch, unless its a pretty low PSI system.
