Any one have plans to build one or the hookup on one close to Chattanooga they would part with?

There use to be some guys years ago that would come to RBD that had one of those, first one I have ever been around, it's amazing how much heat that thing put off.

First one i had ever seen was at RBD a few years back to. It was shooting 10 foot flames out the top! The heat was crazy!

how do these things work? I saw one at RBD but never got close enough to even look at it.

That's a good question. Maybe one of the guys that have one could bring some insight to that. All i know is they put out crazy heat, and use waste oil, kerosene, diesel, etc.

You spent hours staring at and discussing Eric's at your birthday ride.....

Dude I dont remember most of Saturday of that ride. Im not being funny I legit do not remember a lot of that day. And once we got back from that night ride, yeah. Apparently Sarah was there, and David's gf. I dont remember either of them being there.

We had them in our farm shops back in the 70’s and they were old then. Super simple and put off tons of heat. ours were always dampered back with pipes out the roof. The pictures I saw recently of one I guess at KOH looked like it was open top.

My dad always called them salamanders. Never heard called smudge pot till recently

paging @Bronco72

His 214 year old smudge pot is fantastic.
Mine is everybit as old as the dirt is parked on. Grandpaw gave it to me. Startin to show its age me draggin it all over hell aint done it any favors. But a man stay stay pretty warm over a weekend on 10 gallon of dirty diesel fuel

@GIZMO1 Has a badass unit.

I found a couple on ebay for $200 ish bucks. Looks easy enough to build with some scrap tho. I wonder if SFW would make a DIY kit for someone who doesn't have plasma table.

I know the tank would need to be sealed/welded, but would be cool if the chimney section could be flat packed; similar to some of the fire pits you see around now.

I want to get one of these. I like the older ones like that video since they break down into smaller parts so easy to move. The ones I've seen people make custom look really heavy.
