Been looking at '09 Hyundai's for a while now. Found an Accent in a light blue I really like... Gonna sign papers later this week on one!!! :cheer::cheer::cheer:
 
A Hyundai??:eeek: If your going to buy a new car why not get a Toyota?? They last longer than any car out there.

But congrats either way. Buying a new car is alway's exciting. :awesomework:
 
Isn't Hyundai the one where if you lose your job they will take it back? If so I can see where that would be benificial, especially when you take the fact that they start out in the $9K range.
 
In this economic climate isn't it Un-American to purchase a Korean vehicle?

I saw a new Hyundai elantra driving down the road yesterday. My first thought was G D for a **** box that thing looks pretty nice.

My second thought was sadly. If a ****box company with a ****box reputation can turn things around by selling a decent looking quality car( quality has risen by leaps and bounds ) why can't American car companies just copy Japanese cars like hyundai does and sell some fawking cars?:mad:

Brand new Chevys have 1988 looking radios, knobs, and switches.

IF you can't beat them, JOIN THEM !!! Why can't they STOP making "American" styled cars??? cheep looking interior, weird funky looking exterior (equinox, nitro, aveo, aztec)

OK I will preface this with "oh what a feeling" I DID love Toyotas

JD power has ranked Toyota lower and lower.

Toyota has produced a lot of really bad engines in the last couple decades.

IF I were to purchase a NEW car it sadly probably wouldn't be a Toyota because of their hit or miss reliablity.

3.0 V-6 (headgaskets) probably the worst oops toyota has made it came in truck and 4runner

Congrats! Although I must admit.. You can't get much more girly then an accent in light blue :haha::haha:. I still wouldn't mind having a new little car for DD purposes.

No, I wasn't kidding. They seem to be well built, stylish cars.

My cousin has an 08 Accent that he BEATS THE HELL OUT OF. Amazingly it has just over 100,000 miles on it and still runs great even with his abuse. It seems to love the rev-limiter.:awesomework:

An '08 with over 100K?? He must drive for a living.
 
Yep it's a year and a half old now and he is a courier for some medical supply place in tacoma.

The car he had before was an 03 corolla. It made it to 210,000 miles that may seem like a lot but we are talking all freeway here. The engine went at something like 130k and the trans is what killed it finally. It also had a lot of other little problems.

I have a 98 corolla with 109,000 miles. The rear unit bearings had to be changed. The trans was replaced before I purchased it. This winter it did a really weird thing. The check engine light came on at the same time the trans went into "neutral" The engine reved up, I let off the gas and the trans banged back into gear. It only did it once thank god. The code was for a transmission speed sensor. I cleared the code and it's been fine ever sence.
Recently the engine is making a loud ticking sound when cold. Although I think it just needs a valve adjustment. Of course it's the "puck" style and is 600.00 dollars to have done. So I just let it warm up before driving it then its fine.

Keep in mind this is a 300 dollar car so I don't care about it that much. Gotta love Craigslist.:awesomework:

I can adjust the valves on a 22RE in 20 minutes for FREE

Nope. Just letting Boonie know that he's got other options also. I sincerely try to not pimp my work on here.

And for what it's worth, Hyundai doesn't own Kia. Their ownership stake is only 38.67%, with another 3.95% owned by Hyndai/Kia Finance Corp. Kia is majority ownership independant. That said, the two companies are massively intermingled due to the CEO of Kia is the son of the CEO of Hyundai.

C'mon. Get real. All the Big Three cars are built in Canada and Mexico and all the Hondas and Toyotas are built right here in the USA.

Okay, Maybe not ALL of 'em, but a whole dang lot of 'em.

What's un-American? The fact that USA workers are building Camrys and Accords, or the fact that Mexicans are building Chevys.
 
I'd get a KIA over a Hyundai. But I would take a Toyota over and of the foreign cars any day.

The people who have problems with yota's are the one's who don't take care of it.

There's a reason Toyota is ranked #1. :cool:
 
For the love of god, Realize hyundai is pronounced very similar to sunday.
 
just buy local at a store that offers good service. just in case you need to have it worked on. remember if you buy hours from your home you may have to go there for service. you are more likely to get better service having the leverage of " i just bought here". i am in the service end and see it all the time.
