Picking up a new car this week!!!

Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

C'mon. Get real. All the Big Three cars are built in Canada and Mexico and all the Hondas and Toyotas are built right here in the USA.

Okay, Maybe not ALL of 'em, but a whole dang lot of 'em.

What's un-American? The fact that USA workers are building Camrys and Accords, or the fact that Mexicans are building Chevys.

Two of my Fords were built in Lousiville, the other was built in San Jose.

I'd get a KIA over a Hyundai. But I would take a Toyota over and of the foreign cars any day.

The people who have problems with yota's are the one's who don't take care of it.

There's a reason Toyota is ranked #1.

While great engineering can take up the slack of poor maintance, great maintance CAN NOT make up for POOR engineering.

Some Toyotas are made to a very good quality level.

But others are not. It really is simple as that. That is why there ARE class action lawsuits and a lot of recalls. At 25k even an abused engine should NOT seize. There are also plenty of 3VZ engines that are on their 3rd or 4th set of headgaskets.

Buying Toyota is not a "sure bet" like back in the mid 80's back. Now it's a craps shoot. Ask my friend Mike the owner of NIX99 he sees the problems every day.

Gots me my new whip tonight! :cheer::cheer::cheer: Pics to follow. Hope to get some of the younger and older brothers together...:stirpot:

Ok fine buy a scion

Where's the link to this class action lawsuit you keep talking about? This is the first time I have heard of it. Why don't you pull up ALL the class action lawsuits against GM or Ford??

Every company has their "economy" vehicle. Which usually is the one that has issue's. But I'd bet Toyota has less problems than any other company.

Here ya go Joop, your links and a ton more information.

Hondas are very well made all across the board. That probably would be my vehicle of choice unless I needed a heavy duty truck.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE certain Toyotas.

Toyota in my opinion has let their quality fall dramatically. They almost never had recalls and now they have a lot. Of course cars are FAR more complicated now days. But I find it funny how people argue how Toyota has no problems.

How does GM problems have anything to do with what problems Toyota has? Sure one retard may seem smarter than another retard but they are both still retards.

Yes Gm has a lot of problems. And now Toyota is also having a lot of quality issues as well. It doesn't matter if GM has more.

I don't want to spend forever linking but here are a few about the Toyota problems

1-A: 3VZ head gasket http://en.allexperts.com/q/Toyota-800/toyota-head-gaskets.htm
1-B: 5VZ-FE 3.4 liter V6 Head gasket RECALL http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/t100/3.4v6_headgasket.htm

2-A: A "little" list of recalls and TSB's http://www.alldata.com/TSB/60/89601050.html
2-B: More recalls http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2006/07/toyota_recalls.html
2-C: Toyota sludge CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. 3.5 MILLION Toyota owners with problems. http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news04/2007/01/toyota_sludge_settlement.html

3: OIL sludge THIS ONE IS GREAT I RECOMEND READING IT !!! I LOVE CarTalk http://www.cartalk.com/content/columns/Archive/2002/May/07.html

4: more engine problems http://www.consumeraffairs.com/automotive/toyota_engine.html

5: NEW TUNDRA CAM BREAKING Last I heard was a lot of the first year of the trucks were effected.

6: NEW Tundra suspension/frame issues. NOT JUST BED SHAKE. It doesn't like ANY bumpy road. But concrete expansion joints it hates the most. Most of California is paved in concrete, as is a lot of seattle and other areas.

There are also a lot of "little" complaints about fit and finish. Paint quality, wiring problems etc. Nobody makes a perfect line of vehicles. Toyota IMHO is better than most in quality. But I say don't hold it up on a pedestal and IGNORE any problems or say it's user error or neglect when things happen.

Anyways. Some of the Toyotas are good. But like I said it is very hit or miss
