Well...I obey the law and don't speed. I'm not gonna say what speed limit I did....but I can assure you it was the closest to an actual speed limit that anyone ever has done.

Picture isn't real clear. If it's beans and they are green still it may be "wheat beans" which are planted after wheat is cut and they are a very short season crop. They will turn soon or if too late frost will kill them off and they will cure out.

If radishes then yes, it's a winter cover crop. Idea behind it is the radishes will grow and then die which leaves a void in the soil which loosens it helping to break up compaction. Easier for crops to develop good root systems. They also offer a small amount of nutrients the crops need.

Cover crops are going crazy over here! We have guys planting into rolled cover crops that were 6' high! It is helping with the pigweed. If theyw ere planting in September it has got to be cover crops. Or they dont have their wheels and gates set right on the combine and are shooting a crop out the back :dunno:

I planted cover crops to graze my cows on this winter. A mix of radishes, lentils, turnips, sudan grass, german millet. I am not getting paid by the gov. to do it though...

We started a little bit of cover crop this year. Gonna try it out. Never done it before.

The more I look at the picture posted it also looks like it could be volunteer corn after the field was cut. It's sickening seeing how much you lose!

I dunno how early they start harvest in Southern Indiana but I think that would be too tall for it to be coming up after it was shelled across the border here in Ohio.

Lil feller's rabbit died. He wanted to have a hand in the burial. Kinda proud of him in a way.

Long story short, working in the garage, rabbit went ape**** jumping around the cage, knocking **** over. Dog goes over to investigate, got me curious. By the time I got over there, rabbit was laying on its side dying. I pet it for the 10 min it took to pass on. I'm thinking maybe it was bitten by a spider or stung by a bee? :dunno:

A friend from college shares some from the fb group. I was the one that took that pic. Best I could do at 15mph with traffic and 2 lane road.

The right mix will make you a believer! If you need any info I have a friend who is pretty much leading the way in our area. He is a smaller operations and pushes crazy yields with minimal inputs (that's his story). He has been doing cover crops for five or so years now and about has it down to a science of what goes where when.
