**** i'd do it. I love being up high, but only high enough that death is the only outcome. It's that 20-50' fall that will just F you up and not kill you!

I wonder if you can still drive with the boom up that high :dunno:

Drove by that sucker again and got a good look at it, it's a jlg brand and I'm guessing it's the 1850 model which is 185 feet. Screw that crap. No way in hell my big ass getting in that thing

im scared ****less every time I get under my two post lift. I've been up in a boom truck as high as it would go and then some because he was trying to get more out of it. I was ok until I seen he had the over ride switch box bypassed because it was in my face. I was like ok were done here and then the damn man bucket named up and I wasn't upright anymore I was at an angle with it. We had to both try and unjam it all the while I was about to fall way over a hundred feet. Anyhow his dad pulled up and instantly started chewing ass

This is the **** I did in my early 20s. This was my first tower a couple weeks into the job. I was scared ****less. It's 160' and we stacked tower sections 20' at a time so when we stacked that last piece I had to climb out to the corner of the tower to help land it. Then you had to climb and tighten every bolt after it had landed and settled into place. It was a scary and cool at the same time but I won't do it again. Gave it up after 6 years seen and did a lot of crazy ****. I rode a bolsons chair once up to 120' with a crane operator that hated my guts. The chair was basically just a board with a strap around it that you sat in like a child's swing and hooked to the ball of the crane.

185' is the tallest I've used but we did an entire job with 135s and 150s. You get used to it. Here's me in a 135 a while back at a local, now closed, factory. It wasn't tall enough.

Re:

Worst part about those boom lifts is getting caught on something up in the air, not realizing and then it lets loose and wants to slingshot ya. Always wear your harness in those bastards! I won't even pull one across our yard at work without one.

^^they are like a dang catapult. I think the biggest boom I have been in was a 120'. Seems like they move 3' to move 1' when you are trying to get close to something.

Guess this is what happens when ur gay and you put dodge mirrors on a obs ford
