Come on, everyone knows it feels hotter in Alabama than anywhere else in America... FACT

Hows that compare to good ol gold bond powder?

I work outside year round in Ga and the number one best thing that has cured the chafeness for me is under armor boxer jocks. Say good by to chafing.
I don't care for Goldbond at all. ESP tha medicated kind. Great balls of fire!! I been using this ever since i used to come waddling in from putting up fence with my grandpa. Silky smooooth.. Plus jts like 2 buks at any gas station.. By the time I put it under my arms and everywhere else i look like a powdered doughnut! Haha.

Wow that is the exact color on mine. I've been hit 5 times and hit **** myself with it twice on top of that. I believe the color is cursed. So far I've killed a Colorado, Cadillac, xterra, Camry, and a Prius.

So do we. It takes a lot of water in the air to get a 100+ index at 80* but it happens in both places. Heat index / humidity / temp is very similar in parts of Alabama to FL, especially the panhandle. The panhandle basically IS the southern coast of GA & AL so weather is similar.

Here's some nerd-reading about heat index if you care: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_index#Table_of_Heat_Index_values

I am friends with John Nodar, weather guy for WKRG out of Mobile. I've taken it upon myself to learn a little about weather just to keep up with him.

I have a store in Mobile and commute at least once per week from Pensacola to Mobile. I can tell you that the weather in both is about the same on any given day. It's so hot right now that our a/c units can't even keep up. 80* inside is about the best we can hope for.

4 if you count each restaurant as its own business. I can't claim sole ownership of the restaurants though, ownership is shared by my parents, my brother, and I. I'm the only one who operates them day in and out though.

I've heard that if you want to make a million dollars in the restaurant business that you have to start with 2 million. Is there any truth in that or is that saying from people who sucked at it?

I'll take the heat over the cold any day, I hate being cold. Old man winter can suck the summer ball sack sweat out of my shorts. :flipoff1:

Haha, I've never heard that but I can see how it would be true. There is a considerable initial investment with a franchise and we are one of the cheaper franchises. You have to be worth at least $5 million to buy a McD's. We invest almost everything we make into future endeavors / locations and we've been at it for about 8 years now. We're FAR from millionaires and I feel we're fairly decent at what we do. Lets just say that I've thought more than once about getting into chicken farming. :)

Close but I think it's closer to 10 mill to start. We opened ours two years ago last November and it's close to breaking even but still not making money on a steady basis. It's a deli in downtown Chattanooga and is only open for lunch 5 days a week but my wife puts in 60-70 hours a week easy, it's hers anyway. Don't see us ever getting rich from it but at the rate it's going we should be doing pretty good in a year or so.

Easiest job I've ever had just as long as you can put the right hose in the right holes.

I really need to remember that Tapatalk always flips my ****. Yeah defiantly don't smoke. Very frowned upon. But I don't smoke so that's easy for me.

And not smoke around it.....

You'd be suprised at how many truck drivers hauling gas smoke. My BIL has about 15 trucks and I help work on them from time to time. Almost all of them smell like an ash tray. And most of drivers when I see them outside at office they are smoking.

If you ever need a job hauling gas hollar at me. I bet we would have double the trucks if they could find drivers that are worth a **** and not work for 6 months and quit.

Food business is all about location. How would you like to own a KFC downtown Selma AL or a watermellon patch in the middle of B-ham AL? I too own a deli but my nitch being, not another one around for miles. We are on the way to the river so we sell fish bait, burgers and BBQ. Kinda taking a chance on fishing with the bait or actually eating the bait. :puke:

Had ribs from one of patooyees places last night for supper and again for lunch today, dang good product right there. That is another good business model, produce a product that people will drive to you for on a regular bases.

Shane's Rib Shack Also has locations in Pace and Mobile. Not sure about the fourth one but I am betting P-cola. Gulf Breeze is not far from P-cola would be a good area to check out if y'all are there for vacation. Also the Blue Angles are performing
3707 Gulf Breeze PKWY next weekend. Most people get them a spot on the beach and watch the free show. The more fortunate will be on boats in the gulf watching the planes and dodging drunk boat drivers.

Location plays a huge part. We are in an office building, has a store front though so you don't have to go in the main building, and corporate folks are our main customers. We tried staying open later but found it was a waste of time. Do a decent bit of catering to the offices as well.

Thank you!

When we first started we were advised that the three most important factors are location, location, location. I think we didn't appreciate how true this was at first but after 8 years now I think truer words can not be spoken.

Re:

I'm no entrepreneur but I know if you want open a chicken joint it better be in the hood or in a truck stop. Truck drivers and brothas all love their fried chicken.

It's called Mindy B's, Mindy is my wife, and it's in the Volunteer Building at the corner of Georgia Ave. and MLK, across from Miller Plaza. Tell her you're a Hardline member, she actually knows what that is and says she likes wheeling too. I wonder some times though.
