5 minutes of tig welding. ****
90% of the welding I do is flux, trying to Weld weird angles and surfaces with gas pisses me off. Almost as bad as getting burned like that. This ****** can come out of some clothes quick, and that flux fawkin pops and **** bad. Have you noticed it always hits the worst places too?? Inside arm, neck, and my fav, down in boot. **** sucks..

I'm by no means a routine welder.....but I did get a pretty good burn while welding some seats in not too long ago. I've heard of that happening with "people that weld alot", but I figured my below ameature level self would never experience that. I was wrong.....kinda scary how short of a time it took, really. I was using Flux core as well.

Just another reason for me to stick to "tabs and brackets" and leave the real stuff to the pro's.

Re:

I keep it old school and just stick weld. Did it for 6 years welding outside all the time at a previous job and just stick to what I know. Everyone says mig is easier but I always spend more time fighting the machine.

All I had a few years ago was a stick and could do most anything with it. When I finally got a good mig it was a whole different world. I may have used my stick once or twice in the last 6 years. Once you get used to the machine you wouldn't look back.
