Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

I drive an FJ, I guess my inner mall crawler likes em. I think they are tough as hell looking with a small lift and wheels and tires like that one in that pic....minus the homosexual tent on top.

That's what mine looks like when I pull the jeep out of the garage to go on a trip. I tear the place apart getting ready then roll out and deal with it when I get back.

Whatcha doin with the old IH? I found a big block 1 ton, 4 speed, flatbed not too long back. Guy wouldn't sell it with out a ***le and then proceeded to scrap it. It wasn't perfect, but extremely not rusty for an IH.

How many cans of wasp spray did you go through getting it out? I moved an f150 in that's been behind the shop for at least a year and killed 4 nests in it. Had it up on the rack before I found 3 of them. Worst part about doing stuff with old/abandoned/junk yard cars this time of year. Well that and chiggers...

I don't really plan on anything right now I just wanted all the brush away from it so it could breath a little LOL, one day would just like to get it back on the road with little to no body work but the inner fenders a gone where the hood hinges are thats why the hood is so jacked up. I didn't find anything that stings or bites but I also didn't open anything, I was waiting on yellow jackets to hit me anytime though.

That SUUUUUCKS. In KS, after a certain year (like 30 yrs old) you just need a bill of sale. No ***le. VIN inspection and rock out.

Last I checked (several years ago) it's pre-1975 here in Alabama, of course it could be later now. At the time, I was trying to tag a '75 K10....

Right now 1981. In the beginning it was 1975.

From AL DMV:

What year model motor vehicles does the State of Alabama ***le?

Every motor vehicle not more than 35 model years old which is domiciled in Alabama and is required to be registered in Alabama is required to have an Alabama certificate of ***le.

Galvanized pipe from a home improvement store will not work as a driveshaft tube! If you look close in the 2nd pic you can see that it twisted 1/2 a rotation. I thought I could get away with it since I have a stock 318 and bald 37's, the answer is Nope.

Did some trading with Backhalf-cj for these, I guess I'll see how the churched up air shocks work!

Naw man I couldn't make myself spend the extra money. I ride every weekend an was nervous about how long they would last me. Plus 99% of the riding I do is on dirt or sand.

Same here....my non sticky SX's still toss huge gravel and mud even after a year and a half. I need to flip them on the rim though. The inside lugs are sharper than the outsides.

I kinda wanna groove mine but it's hard for me to cut up a new set of tires I just paid 2gs for.. I think I'm gonna wait till the edges start getting rounded.
