Hardline Crawlers - Rock Bouncer Builds, Tech & Off-Road Trail Talk

Help Support Hardline Crawlers:

The foot shell on this foot actually has the split toes to wear a flip flop, of course you have to rig something up like velcro to keep it on, but I don't have the need to do flip flops, so we'll likely never find out. Lol

I just wear manly Crocs now instead of flip flops. :flipoff1:

Does that tattoo on the right ankle say "Left legs matter " it's foggy in the picture :drinkers:

Whats that silver button on the side do?

NOS! :flipoff1: That's the eject button...releases the pin lock. I wear a thick silicon liner on my leg (picture giant thick nub condom) that has a metal ribbed pin that's about 1" long sticking out of the end of it that clicks down into the leg to keep it on when I step down in it. Push button and leg will come off. There are various types of mating systems, pin-lock, elevated vacuum, suction, etc. Pin lock is the most primitive and low maintenance, so it works best for me.

It says "PAIN", it's right over where that leg broke and jabbed bones out the side of the leg, broke another piece of my tibia off that is still probably laying on the side of the road where I wrecked, and ultimately caused me to have a rod put in, bunch of screws and a bone graft right behind that tattoo.

So what do you do when you get home? Kick the keen and leg off or just the keen? Not being a asshole but curious. I asked a one arm man how he shaved and he said spray shaving cream on sink and put face in it!!

Hhaahaha that is funny ****! He was just pissed because he couldn't start a round of applause!

I literally wear my leg and the Keen shoes (on both feet) until I get ready to get a shower before I get in bed. I get home from work late at night, get into some lounge clothes if I want to stay up a little bit, and wear leg and shoes til I get tired enough to grab a shower and go to bed. Then I get in my power chair, take leg off, ride to the kitchen sink to wash my leg liner, ride it to the shower to wash my ass, ride it to the bed to sleep. Wake up and do the inverse routine. Say I want to kick back in bed and watch a little tv and sip on a craft beer after work before I get a shower, I will sit on the edge of the bed, take leg off (shoe still on) and prop it beside the bed, and take my other shoe off the real foot and kick back. Then put it back on if I need to get up for something. That's the best thing about the pin lock system, easy on easy off. The leg is aligned with a shoe on it, so when you take the shoe off of it, it is way hard to walk on because the thick heel of a shoe is missing. It is like constantly walking on your toes on that fake foot and tries to lock your knee with every step unless you anticipate it and fire your hamstring muscles during stride to counter the force. I got a DUI back in 2011, was fawking pissed as fawk when they made me take my shoes off in jail and walk around on that damn fake foot. Luckily it was about 4am and I was hammered so I just went to piss and laid down on that ****ty bed til they brought me a biscuit from McDonalds the next morning LOL. I was too hungover to eat it....anyways, I digress.

Side note regarding quality of Keens, one of my old bosses at work asked me about these Keens the other day, as he is looking for a new pair of work shoes. I told him, I don't take these things off unless I have a reason to put on a nicer shoe for some occasion. Unless I'm going out to eat, or doing something special, I wear these shoes, even on weekends. Sounds like I'm bragging too much on them, but I wish I had've found these years ago. I spent somewhere around 8 years walking in ****bag wolverines and various tennis shoe looking shoes with steel toes. First time I tried on the Keens in-store, I didn't even take them off to pay for em. Threw the shoes I wore into the store in the Keen box, walked to the cash register, paid my $130, and left. They also gave me 2 free Keen coozies which was cool. My first pair was the Atlanta Cool shoes. They look like these but are made a little different. They had nylon only loops and one of the loops broke right before they were 2 years old. I was pissed. Bought these Flint Lows and have had zero issues. My other shoes were nowhere near being wore out, had it not been for that loop breaking. Terrible design. These Flint Low shoes have leather loops all the way up except for the top loop, and it has a plastic insert in it to prevent wear. So these should last another couple years at a minimum. The in-soles in these things are damn near indestructible and maintain comfort. They don't get wollered out in the shape of your foot. They are just as comfortable today as the day I bought them 2 years ago.

We get $40 a year in a shoe money account at work to pay for our work shoes, I will have $80 come January 1, so I am gonna go ahead and buy another pair (These Flint Lows can be had for around $100 on ebay), just to keep on hand for when these wear out. I guess it's my inner crawler or whatever, but I'm becoming more and more paranoid about stuff wearing out and try to keep extras on hand when able, especially regarding things that are vital to everyday life. Blow a work shoe out, I need a replacement right then. Crazy, I know....but I like to be prepared... molaugh

Glad to hear this about Keen. Theyre our newest KY tenant. They recently signed a lease for 340,000sf in Louisville, KY in one of our buildings. In the process of building out their space now....anywho, thats a trick leg ya got there!

Thanks man! That is cool. They need to do some advertising, a commercial here or there would probably up their sales significantly. I have never seen an ad or anything for them. Only word of mouth.

It's crazy, that's like Business 101. The more you market, the more you sell. Unless their CEO is cool at the sales pace they currently maintain.

Another wierd business move is a beef jerky company called Country Meats. Our Ag teacher sold the CM meat sticks in high school for $1 a piece. Best beef sticks I have ever ate in my life. Cool flavors like Sweet Annie Brown, Sweet BBQ, hot BBQ, Spicy Grill, Cajun, Country Delight that had a shot of cheese up the middle of it, etc.

Well the way they sell is only to people doing fundraisers. Schools, churches, etc. They sell a box at something like $0.45 per stick, that is to be sold for $1 per stick to whoever is doing the fundraiser to pocket the profit. Most Ag teachers in the county still sell them. I got on their website one time and placed an order for something like 100 or so beef sticks in my favorite flavors, PayPal'd the $80 or however much it was, and filled out "self" in the space required for specified fundraiser and they rejected my payment, called me and pretty much said only way I can buy them is from someone selling them. Lol

They are that good though. If the CEO of CM was a capitalist, he could broadly increase production, put them on the shelf beside Slim Jims and other brands, and they would go out of business, so long as price remained competitive.

The company I work for doesn’t have a website, Facebook page, print ads, brochures, nothing. Zero advertising, zero sales dept, zero sales literature.
No one even has business cards.

It’s frustrating sometimes, especially since I was a sales guy before I started here

Automation/special machines/lab equipment etc.

In the past year we’ve built machines that disassemble land mines, seam oil filters, produce the primer that ignites decoy flares, and cuts and sticks the little foam strips on cabin air filters. Pretty much whatever a customer wants done, we’ll quote a machine that’ll do it.

It’s a mixed bag.
