Ha, I called my buddy about an hour ago that owns a gutter business. One side has gutters but this side doesn't. The main source of water was that culvert that dumps out in the front yard from the field across the road that I buried the catch basin and drain line for. The lack of gutter just played a minor part in erosion. But nonetheless, doing all this work, Im gonna get a gutter put on to hopefully finish fixing the whole problem.

40 bags of mulch doesn't appear to be enough to finish today...

Hopefully there will be no water running across the area at all now that I have the catch basin/drain line buried to catch all/most the water that comes out of the culvert, and once I get a gutter installed. I was always afraid to put down something like pea gravel bc 1.) I don't like the way it looks. 2.) Back when A LOT of water crossed that area (before I buried the drain a couple weeks ago), I did not want a bunch of gravels blew out into the yard. You can mow over mulch, not so much gravel.

Hopefully I won't have to worry about the mulch floating off now. Kinda nervous to see the results after the next rain. Hoping the catch basin/drain line works like I hope it will. I'm nearing $700 on the solution/repair of this **** counting today's 40 bags of mulch, so if it doesn't work and all washes away again, I might just fawkin sell the place and pocket the equity. Lol. Still gotta pay for a gutter and more mulch, so it will be about dead on $1k start to finish. But it's needed to be done for years now, so it's just part of it.

Here's what the **** looked like when it comes a turd floater.

The first 3 pics are of an average rain, nothing major. The last few are when it came a monsoon a couple years ago. *Local creek pic for reference of how much it rained. Small creek that usually aint but maybe 10-15' wide. You can see where the water also goes around the house the other way too and totally fawked the driveway up. I've got the culvert blocked up with 2 old car tags and a bunch of stobs nailed down in front of them, then a bunch of oversized gravel piled in front to hold it. In that monsoon, it blew the rocks and all out, so later I had to put twice as many rocks on it, hasn't done it since. The car tags block probably 75% of the hole of the culvert and it restricts the water flow down quite a bit, so hopefully the catch basin and 4" drain pipe will be able to catch what comes through and redirect it.

I have thought about getting a bag of quickrete and really fixing that culvert, but I'd like to avoid legal troubles. Lol

I used to think that Mexicans were hard on rental equipment. Then the Italians came to town to build a tissue factory and it's always fun to see what they've torn up next and try and figure out how they did it. This is a hitch on a 36kw tow behind generator. A lot of people have been taking other people's equipment and using it on the job or if it's in someone's way they'll try and forcibly move it and I'm guessing someone wasn't happy where this unit was parked and decided to try and yank it out of the way and it was probably chained to a pole.

Hell, it was probably trying to find all the fresh grass in the road to feast on. Our house is beside the one in the far left of that pic, so at any given time there's plenty grass in the road down that way for it to eat. He was headed in the right direction. Lol
