Several years ago a 284 wheel rig passed through our area hauling a stator for the generator at a new power plant they were building up the road. The stator itself weighed over 800k, and the whole rig was about 1.3 million. It had 4 trucks. Two pulling and two pushing. I tried to find a better picture but all I could find was this old newspaper article.

I seen this big mother last year, it was some kinda dryer for a new tissue factory in circleville Ohio. They had bucket truck crews at every traffic light unbolting traffic lights and raising em so it could pass. That had to be a expensive job

I guess that thing was coming through Fayette county when they decided to pull it over and scale it. They had to call all the surrounding counties to get enough scales to do it because they had never done anything that big before. Bunch of ****ing pricks acting like someone who does that big of a job isnt covering their ass so they pull them over right when theyre almost to their destination. Speaking of super loads theres one with a pusher parked at the rest area on 71 by the outlet malls tonight. Always wanted to do that **** but those dudes are gone for longer periods of time then I care to put up with.

Pretty sure that thing started out at Forks of the River in Knoxville. Came off a barge and loaded it onto the truck. ****ed up traffic for hours. I worked right around the corner from Burkhart at the time.

Yeah, it did. It was built overseas, shipped to Louisiana, then to made it’s way up to Knoxville on a barge.

Yep it is a dryer for a paper machine. We have 3 at the plant I work at.

Ours were brought in on a barge up the Mississippi river and loaded onto a train to be delivered to the plant. If I remember correctly they were made in Italy.

Funny thing is the welds did crack from me drilling the holes.

I made a cover with some more rci aluminum today

Looks to be a yankee dryer. Have two here where I work same deal brought them up the Tennessee River. Where do you work if you don't mind me asking? I work in Cherokee, Alabama for a tissue plant.

Cant be too old that looks like a 10 series hood to me. Maybe a 20 series. Id guess a 1010 judging from were the headlights are. So early to mid 60’s maybe...

Work for Proctor and Gamble in Missouri. I’m work in tissue converting but we work pretty close with the papermaking. I did a couple months in the papermaking side so got to see quite a bit while I was over there.
 
On the John Deere steering is wrong for a 1010 but hood and headlights look just like a 1010???

Good point! The steering shaft came thu the top of the radiatior on a 1010 didnt it?

That's cool I work for Essity (formally SCA) been making paper for 15 years now.
 
Now I'm going to have to go back and crawl into the bushes and see if I can figure out if it is in fact a 2010 I don't know my John Deere models at all
