This one is easy to answer. The little triangle is a 5 length by 2 rise. The large triangle is a 8 length by 3 rise.
This means the the two triangles are NOT similar in shape, so that the overall combined pieces do NOT have a straight line going up, rather it is arc upwards in the bottom pic, and arc downward in the top pic. That extra box in the bottom is the difference between those two arcs.
