Well, It's not really a race buggy, I just wanted to get down to the legit dudes and filter out the douchebag Jeep club girbronis. My 2004 LJ is having trans issues. 2nd gear runs like a champ no issues, no slipping, nothing. It won't shift tot 3rd/OD or downshift to 1st. Check engine light is on and throwing low TCM voltage. If it's shot, I'm going to keep driving and just go everywhere in 2nd. It seems like something funky that I am not smart enough to find. Any ideas?

@hokie_yj or @GlipGlop any insights?

Mine is also a '04, but I haven't had any issues "yet". With the low voltage code I'd check all you battery connections and grounds, and verify your battery is still holding good voltage and not failing. I'd also try disconnecting both battery cables and shorting them together for 30 seconds or so before re-connecting them. I've seen that at least temporarily solve some tcm/pcm issues before. If the tcm is actually bad a good used one can be had for a few hundred bucks and it would be an easy swap.

I've done the battery. I'm going to check the ground cables. I'm a pretty crappy mechanic in general, but ground wires always throw me for a loop. I spent a whole afternoon at Hawk Pride one day going back and forth to autozone to buy every electrical part I could think of to fix an intermittent fan issue. I think it was Eddy walked up and said "you check this ground wire" and fixed it in 35 seconds. Good times!! I'll update soon
