Recommend me a PS pump (full hydro)

That one gets smaller as it goes faster. You'd need the opposite. That and they typically use a strange style belt. 1 side is flat and the other is angled.

I bought 2 pumps, 2 pulleys, and 2 res for less than 700. I am not looking at my invoice at the moment but i think the pumps were in the 150 ish range.

Anybody had any luck with KRC ? :dunno:

I called and spoke with Cody and the pump he is telling me to run is $580 by its self.......

industrial or agricultural pumps are of a different breed. To get one belt driven is going to take some careful selection of the pump and the pulley size. Most pumps that I see the manufacture says the upper rpm limit is ~ 3000rpm and typically the lower limit is ~500rpm. Now put that on a domestic v8 that idles at 750rpm and has a 6000rpm redline. . . . . . .. . . I wonder if there is a way to but a variable diameter pulley on the pump? (kinda like a polaris atv uses)

yep 1:1 ration 19l/min gearpump BBC 825-6200rmp 150bar all day long

did instal vickers vtm27 5gmp pump to other buggy and it didnt have enough speed so we drilled its pressure port bigger and installed 120bar valve to it, now its driveable

This is the tech section. Video of your buggy shows me nothing. Lets see how you mounted it. What pump. Is it rated for 6000 RPM?

6 rib serpentine
pump pulley is from stock chevy steering pump just changed the center hub
19cc/rev cheapo gear pump with support bearing recomended rmp was min 100bar 500rmp/ 175bar 850rmp max 3000rmp
~4 litre reservoi

500rmp/ 175bar 850rmp max 3000rmp

rmp=rpm?

So you are turning it twice the rpm it is rated for?
How is it lasting at that speed?

yeah rpm :) seems to holding fine. you have to remember those max recomended speeds are for 24/7 usage. in my previous truggy i had simiral pump driven 1:1 ration too and it has +10 years on it and pump still works fine.

If you're interested in industrial pumps you should really read the Pirate thread. Timjus is an integral part of that thread as well.

one thing i have noticed in all full hydro stuff people post is they always start building their system from wrong end.

here is how it shoulbe done

start from ram throw and size you need and calculate volume

figure how many revolutions you want to have in your steering wheel then divide your cylinder volume By steering revolutions you picked gives your steering valve size

pick the closest size steering valve

to get the correct pump for your steering its your steering valve size times steering valve rpm.
normal recomended is 50-100rpm but for any racing stay near 100rmp

so if you have ram sized 2.5x8" with 1.18"rod gives your ram volume 30.51 in3

lets say 2.5 turns from lock to lock so 30.51/2.5 gives 12.2 in3 steering valve size

listed one has 12.1in3 valve aviable

pump size 12.1x100 gives your pump size 1210in3/min and its 5.238gpm
