What you greatest regret in life?

It's been a weird day , all can think of are things I could have done different.

My greatest regret is waiting for the police to break down my girlfriends door back in 1995........she had hung herself. The "could haves" and "should haves" **** with me almost daily. This **** continues to haunt me.

The mind is amazing when it comes to this ****.....

I regret nothing.

It's probably better to regret something you've done rather than something you didn't do.:;

My biggest? Not going to college right out of high school.

Second biggest? Not dumping the girl I was taking to the prom so I could ask the girl I had a crush on since 8th grade to the prom, after I found out she didn't have a date!

Biggest non-regret? Marrying my wife. We've been together for over 23 years now.

Regret is a funny emotion...

I have those days sometimes... just days where you look back a lot and wonder if something could have gone differently or if you could've made a different decision and been more happy with where you are at now. Usually this comes for me when I feel unhappy about my current situation in some way.

I'm swimming in decisions right now that I hope I'm not going to regret later... but the decision isn't between two opposites, rather it's between action or inaction (which in the literal sense, are opposites... but whatever), which has always been my biggest hurdle. I can choose on a whim between doing one thing or doing another, but when I'm faced with "do it" or "don't do it"... I stew and stew and sometimes end up waiting until it's too late... which is never the right outcome, but seems to be the one I choose many times. :(

Now I'm rambling I guess... so I'll make it short and sweet:

I regret not telling her how I felt because I was (and still am) very scared of rejection. :booo:

I don't have many regrets but If I had to choose one I would say I regret not throwing my ex wife out much sooner than I did.:looser:

I regret playing with dangerous things without the proper equipment.

More generally, I regret the stupid punk ass attitude that made me act so carelessly.

Regret for me is a teacher of life, In my regrets I learn from those to not repeat said emotional thing that would tie me back to the regret in the first place.

for instance, I wish that I had the sensibility to form a stronger bond with my mother earlier than I did, so that I could have more things to appreciate in her profound absence.

that all being said. I am only able to go forward, If I dwell in the past with my regrets and mistakes it robs me and those around me from being the person I can be.

My regrets are my most important teachings in life.

as of today, these are the only ones:

i regret letting myself be abused by contractors. i dont deserve it.
i regret not listening to my family/friends/conscious and letting the abuse of the other contractors happen. they dont deserve it.
i regret i allowed fear to keep me from leaving the job i disliked and letting many, probably awesome and definitely profitable, opportunities go by the wayside.

i only allow myself to regret for a short time. the way i see it, regret fixes yesterday just as well as worry fixes tomorrow (not at all.) i make sure i have learned *something* from all the experiences or my life is all for not...and i cant have that. i find that this attitude keeps me sharp, able to make better decisions in the future.

No regrets..

If things were changed in the past, my life wouldnt be perfect as it is now....

I can agree and relate to that:awesomework:

I'm at an odd crossroads in life. My son is now 18 and out of the house. It's just me and the weiner dog. Loneliness and losing that sense of purpose that being a single fulltime dad gave me has put me a drift in melencholy and reflection...............not all bad, just new.
:wtf:New= odd:wtf:

If we are going there I'm ****ed:

Lisa
Sue
Steph
Danielle
Kirsten

with a side of Hannah

I'm sure to add to the list

I remember that intro to a song...Butthole Surfers?
Yeah...little boy to father--
"Daddy, what does regret mean?"
"Well, son, the funny thing about regret is:
It's better to regret something you have done,
Than to regret something you haven't done."

The song is "Sweet Loaf."

What Ann said makes a lot of sense to me personally. I try to use mistakes as stepping stones to learning instead of something to dwell on and say "what if" forever. I have made some terrible choices in life. It is part of the experience of being human. I have tried to learn from my choices in order to make better ones in the future.

Regrets don't do you any good, Just look ahead and take what life throws at you. (I know after school special) I have had a pretty messed up past and done alot of messed up things, but if I hadn't done just one of them I wouldn't have the family I have now, be as happy as I am, and appreciate it like I do.

You stole my answer!

Remender the immortal words of Alfred E. Newman "What, Me worry?"

I regret

Not buying more lotto tickets, more often

I have regrets, but thats what they are. MINE! I don't have time to look back but they do remind me of things not to repeat.

Exactly man:cool: My past has formed me into the person I am today. Sometimes I think maybe I should have done this or that, but in the end I would change nothing not even the most horrible experiences in my life.

I regret that I didnt buy Ten Thousand rounds of good quality 75 grain 5.56 ammunition BEFORE we started killing people in the middle east. It was cheap then, it's BIG BUCKS now! Oh well, it's only going to get more expensive. Buy up the stuff now if you have any intention of getting some in the future.

Especially get some now, before a commie democrat gets into office reinstates the assault weapons ban, among many other bans that will be coming.

You wont be able to buy one of these (like I did yesterday) in two years.

well I regret marrying my ex-wfie. Total nutt case, certifed nutt's. But if I woudln't of met her and had my life long lesson's with here fawking insaness, I probably wouldn't have the things I have now. Plus I would probably still be in the army, getting ready for retirement. So I kinda regret that. But then again dont.

Kinda hard to say.....
