The Hombres took a little jaunt out to Sadie creek last sundy for a little fun in the slime. There was Lee and myself in the orange cj5. Tom and cathy in the black cj5. Logan and Carrie (run leaders) in the green flatty and logans friend Ty and wife in the black flatty. After meeting for breakfast at Dennys in bremerton we headed west for two hours to Joyce where we met up with Ty and his wife who had camped out the night before. Got to the parking area and there were only a few quads there. Got unloaded and hit the trail. First obstacle was the gate keeper which will work quite well as it took the jeeps 2 and 3 point turns to get through it. Lee was just itching to try out his new shoes in the mud

Last year when we were here the entire trail was in heavy woods and really reminded me of Elbe many years ago when the trails were very tight and heavily wooded. Now the area has been logged so a lot of the beauty of the trail is lost. It was still a fun trail on the greasy slick mud but its a shame is almost all in the open now. The only upside is there are some great views now that we didnt have before. It didnt look like its been getting much use recently as we had to clear quite a few deadfalls and did some blocking to get the trail back where it belonged.

Heres some of the wheeling type stuff The are is a lot of fun as it is a very slick greasy type of mud that is very firm underneath. Lots of wheelspin with no rutting of the trail There are also a couple of deep muddy water holes along the way to catch your attention

And then theres the carnage report It was a bad day to be a cj5 Lee managed to nail a tree (on my side of course) doing just a bit of damage to the frame and breaking the windshield in the process Tom managed to get the same tree but not near as bad. Lees fan took out the fan shroud and then we figured out later as to why Tom lost the feed line to his fuel pump possibly due to a broken motor mount Then we found out why the fan was hitting Turns out the frame had a crack in it on one side and all of the hammering on the root wads finished it off and managed to caryy over to the other side and almost break the jeep in half This is why the driveling fell out on the last climb out of the trails. Luckily we were able to stop before the frame completly broke and with some clever bracing we were able to pull him up to the gravel road and he drove it back to camp All in all a great day even with the carnage and A big thanks to the just jeep junkies for keeping this trail open for all of us

Only tree there left and you guys manage to find it - :haha:

Thanks for the pictures, that is a long drive for most of us and it's a welcome sight to see another place to go wheel at and hear about the trail conditions. Sad that it got clear cut but, now it's more open to see it in a different way.

Looks like a good time! And I must say, WOW!!! Lucky to have caught the cracks before shtuff got real ugly...
