I LIKE CHEAP STUFF.....
It's been a hard decision to let ol goldie locks here go. Had her about 2 1/2 years and she's been a damn good trail rig. I've got the itch for something bigger and already talked with someone about their rig and it looks like the deal is already lined up as soon as mine goes to another home.
I didn't build the truck, only changed a few minor things on it since it's been in my ownership so I will list everything to the best of my knowledge. I also stay in touch with the guy that built it on Pirate4x4, so if anything needs to be cleared up that I am unable to answer, I can get with him and hopefully answer any question you have about the truck.
*1998 Toyota Tacoma / 4 cylinder 2.7L 3RZ engine with 156k miles (runs like a top and never missed a beat and no visible leaks, does not use oil) / 5 speed tranny / stock t case / K&N Cold Air Intake / header (can't remember the brand) so no exhaust leaks / Centerforce clutch
*Exterior - Demello Offroad front bumper with offroad fog lights / full rear cage / rock sliders tied into cage / bed has been bobbed and dovetailed / diamond plate tool chest and spare wheel/tire mounted in bed / bed skins can be taken off and it pretty much looks like a truggy, they are mouted to parts of the custom cage tubing / not sure if cage tubing is dom or hrew, but the sliders sure do seem to hold up well without denting much.
*Front end - Wagoneer Dana 44 SAS / Chromoly Yukon axle shafts and Superjoints / Yukon 4:88 gears with Lockrite locker / Warn premium lockouts / all new axle seals put in last year along with a brand new set of Warn lockouts / Hi steer / leaf sprung (think they are the Waggy leafs, but not 100% sure) has alot of travel for leaf sprung front end / Rancho adjustable shocks / Rock Crusher differential cover / disc brakes.
*Rear end - Factory Tacoma rear axle with factory axle shafts (never had an issue with the stock rearend parts) / 4:88 gears with Lockrite locker / Disc brake conversion kit / 63" Chevy leaf springs
*Driveshafts - Now I'm not sure about the driveshaft specs, but I do plan to get with the original builder and ask him about them. I want to say they are Tom Woods driveshafts, but I'm not sure. I do remember him saying he sent them off, but I can't remember where. I do know that I've never had a problem with them or even broke any of the driveshaft u joints.
*Interior - looks like a bone stock Tacoma inside. Which is one of the main reasons I bought the truck. The a/c is ice cold, heat works perfect, all carpet and everything inside is in good condition with only a tear in the driver's seat from my one legged ass sliding in and out of it lol. Also has some sort of black heavy duty metal locking center console that will nearly hold a case of beer...not sure where he got it, but it sure is handy.
*Tires/wheels - Super Swamper TSL bias ply 36x12.50x15, no holes or patches that I know of. Wheels are reverse center steel rock crawler wheels with a DIY beadlock kit that kinda doesn't work due to them being reverse center wheels...which I found out after I done spent 4 hours welding/grinding/and trying to mount the tire correctly. The tires can only be taken off the back side of the wheels because of the way the wheel centers are made, which prevents you from being able to pop the lip of the tire on the outside of the wheel without risking tearing the bead. Believe me, we tried every way in the book. I've read on the web where ppl have done it with reverse center wheels, but also read where they broke a couple tire machines and tore their beads all to ****. Just wasn't that worth it to me. So they serve a good purpose of being rock rings to protect the wheels.
$7,000 o.b.o. (o.b.o. doesn't mean call and offer $5,000 cash for it....it will be wasting your time and mine). BUT CASH DOES TALK! Clear Alabama ***le in hand and it's street legal. I had a tag and insurance on it until I made it a trailer queen last year. You can drive this thing to the trail, run the ice cold a/c in the summer and the great heater in the winter, roll the windows up and stay dry, turn the Pioneer cd player up with door speakers and extra 6x9's in boxes behind the seats, and wheel all day long, then drive her home. This is one helluva capable rock rig to still be streetable.
Call or text me (Josh) @ 256 - six three eight - 5336 anytime. I work 2nd shift and have college classes during the day so it may be tough for me to answer so either leave a message or a text and I'll get back with you asap. I need this truck gone in order for the new deal I've got lined up to work out, but I'm in no way hurting or gonna let it go for little to nothing. Located in Sylvania, AL 35988
Will list pics and extras I have to go with truck below. I think I covered most everything, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask! Thanks for looking!
