The motor came from a 1979 Chevy K20. He replaced the entire oem motor with a Summit Racing rebuilt unit, then put approximately 25,000 miles on it (he had the receipt and showed me the 2 yrs where he drove it regularly and estimated). When blew the trans, then just parked it.

I added:
  • Edelbrock Performer intake
  • 1-wire 130amp output alternator
  • HEI ignition from Pro-Comp
  • S-10 v8 swap mid-length headers (1.5" dia primaries with 2.5" collectors)
  • HD high flow water pump for 1 ton truck
  • IMPCO 425 Propane Mixer and Regulatorwith vaccum lock-off
  • plus, some general maintenance pcs like, new plug wires, a new set AC Delco plugs, and some fresh oil, spare set of belts
  • and recently i found out I keep wearing out the PS belt because the pulleys seem to be off about 1/4" (all OEM brackets, and recently added aluminum crank double pulley), so I bought a serpentine setup to replace the junk v-belt
  • I have 4 Aluminum tanks, and about 12' of high pressure LPG feed hose (like a hydraulic hose).

Motor runs incredibly strong, no ticks or knocks. I added a set of heavier vacuum advance weights on lighter springs to the distributor to get the timing to open up faster for better propane tuning. Fires right up, even in very cold weather, every time. I'll see about adding a video to this thread.

Motor, plus propane conversion parts, plus 4 Aluminum tanks for the propane. The Power Steering pump DOES NOT come with the sale. It will remain on the motor until the sale, at which time I will keep it because it's a stupidly expensive PSC unit.

That's over $1300 in parts neglecting the cost of the motor.

What I want is your lower mileage 5.3L or 6.0L COMPLETE with alternator, ECM, and UNCUT wiring harness. We can talk about trading my motor for yours if we agree on trade value (I need a tank, fuel pump, and fuel hoses...). If you don't have an LS motor to trade, then you can buy this setup for $1600, obo.

This setup has been in my rig for 3 years, but in those 3 years I've only been out 4 times, and most of the trips were less than a full day. This motor has seen very little use, it will still run strong for years.

PM me with any questions

....and here's a short sound clip of it running.

I'll see if I can get a video/sound clip of a cold-startup here in the next few days so you have something a little more current.

I forgot to mention, but the buggy is getting a full gut-job and we are taking it under the knife at my buddy's house in the Winston-Salem/Mocksville area. It's not my house to be having people come check this thing out and "take it for a test-drive", but it will make picking it up easier for 98% of the NC4x4 guys. It's still in Greenville, SC for now, but should make the trip to NC by the end of the month.
