Wouldn't it be needed for the trans to function properly?

Oh yeah. In my mind it was a 400 and not a 4l80. Continue on...

So is he tuning the transmission also? If you used a full manual valve body could you do away with the speed sensor?

We did more tuning on my 4L80 than we did on the motor
