Dutchman Import 4340 9", 31 spline sitting inside an ARB running 37's and about 3200 lbs of total vehicle weight. Not a lot of miles... Stock D60 stubs look fine.

Just my opinion... But I think your picture answers your question... Lol

Was it running dry? Or perhaps it wasn't fully milled to full spec and developed slop? Or perhaps it is just not the right 'hardness' for the metal?

I'm new to chromolies and their wear patterns... But I know I'd be unhappy if I saw that, and I'd be asking the guys I bought it from WTF?!? Lol

In a front or rear end?

May be a bent or misaligned housing. It sure looks like the wear is deeper the further in the splines it gets.

Look at the top of the splines, the end is wide and the inside is almost sharp. If there was wear due to soft axles or wrong angle it would still be EVEN wear the length of the engagement.

Bent housing makes perfect sense. Thanks for the help guys!

Any shops around straighten housings?
