SOLD!!!!

New 2011 2 seater tube chassis built and fabricated by Jay Roberts of Backyard Fabrication in Dunlap, TN. 423-463-6959

This chassis is designed for V8 small block drivetrain. It is a very low profile and laid back design.
The bottom main rails, shock loops, and cross members are all made of .188 wall DOM. The rest of the
tubing is .120 wall.

$3,350 is a great price for complete chassis with engine guard and super strong .188 DOM sections.

Total width inside cage is 48 " and Kirkeys are 18" each.

Jimmy, I thought you and Jay were buddies so why the snide comments? Your chassis are great and no one has said differently. However, Jay's are great too so there is nothing wrong with him building them and selling them like you do. You have a huge waiting list so I don't believe Jay is taking much business from you at all. Stay friendly.

i would say he is upset about the price . He may feel you are driving down the price of chassis. sweet build though i told a friend about this he should be calling!

I agree totally, never seen a Smith chassis that didn't look badass but that price and those lines are pretty hard to beat for the money, great work and killer price

Could be a number of possibilities why Jimmy is disgruntled.. The chassis is looking like a Jimmy Smith copy .Also, the price is dropped to the point that it will cut into Jimmy's business(3350$ for a chassis including material compared to $2800 plus materials?) Maybe Jimmy will give his two cents;but I suspect it will be kept more private beyond what he has expressed already.
