Squeaky belt? Need help.

Squeaky belt! The belt on my rig squeals like hell. It is annoying as ****.
What's the fix? I've tried new belts, new tensioner, tighning, loosening, new alternator other was bad anyway, ****ty belt spray didn't work either. I've fixed many squealin belts but this sob will not stop. :wtflol:

that motor has too much power for a regular belt! :driving:

are the accessories mounted in the stock spots? can you kinda try and pin point where the which pulley is causing the squeel. could be not enough belt wrap on the pulley

Have you checked the alignment of the accessory pulleys? :dunno:

When i put the PSC pump on my TJ, I had a problem with a squeaky belt.
It turned out that it was the alignment of the pump with the rest of the accessories. I solved the problem by machining new spacers that were longer.

Steven, only because it's you will I do this for. I will swap you motors straight across. That's right, no charge. This should help your squeaky belt problem. :dblthumb:

i have remedied squeaky pulleys by sandblasting the belt surface... aluminum pulleys are especially a problem...

Yea, if the pullys are real smooth, the belt will slip/squeal. Rough them up.

The alignment has been checked and rechecked. Have not tried to sand pulleys sounds like that would work though rougher contact patch. Tried wire brushing the surface of the belt to get all the belt dressing off. I have not tried soap yet. I read that in a offroad article a while back though. It squeals around the alternator hence the new one. Goin to try a new belt in the morning with cross ribbing to see if it will bite any better. tks for the info. I'll post up any changes.

While it's running.....very carefully........stick some sand paper in the alum pully.Then soap the hell out of it... :dblthumb:
