Tell me what you guys think of this idea:

Make a thread that contains all the steel suppliers and their locations. Lock the thread so it doesn't get filled up with drama or B.S., and if anyone has anything to add to it, they can PM the Mod (crash or whoever) with the info, so it can be added.

I have noticed a lot of people posting threads trying to find out where to get steel. I think it is relevant enough to this site, where it could be useful to have a thread. No need for pricing(since that changes too often), just contact info.

I'll start:

Pacific Industrial does not carry DOM pipe. I think it would be a good idea to specify if the place you listed carries DOM. Just an idea. feel free to erase this post

The best source for standard size DOM i.e. 1" 1.5" 1.75" etc i've found is Anthony, aka XO Fab.

The best place for large axle tube size with selection in DOM/Chromo i've found is team tube in Kent, and Dean Detweiler @ Bent Metal Customs in Puyallup (retubes, and builds axles, better price on materials than Team Tube if you get your work done by him)

The best place for plate, flat stock, or square tube, Northwest Steel and Pipe in Tacoma.

The best place for really strange metals, oddball sizes, or anything you wouldn't find anywhere else is OnlineMetals.com (based out of seattle)

Or if you need AL or Chromo for Links, you can't buy it for what Bunk will sell them to you already made for.

There's my $.02:beer:

Here's a few companys i used to deal with when i worked at a machine shop a few years back;

Metal Supermarkets
22029 70th Ave S
Kent, WA 98032
1-866-867-9344
www.metalsupermarkets.com/
(5% off your first order and 10% off all orders over $100)
They are a small shop but have great customer service & usually had the best prices in the area.

EMJ Metals
22011 76th Ave S, Kent, WA 98032
(253) 872-0100
emjmetals.com
They usually had the odd size materials or specialty metals that we needed, however they were a little slower than other shops when it came to pulling orders.

SummerVille Steel Company

Large stock of mild, AR, and T-1 plus they have a ton of remnants sold by the LB. Need a small piece of diamond plate for your dash? Stop by.

They will stock DOM if you need it but they're not the cheapest.

Will plasma cut to your shape as needed.

misalignments also. call them don't order on line you will save 10 to 40%
depending on the size of your order ya they rock and I have a pile of those
himes if anyone needs any.

hope this helps guys don't like seeing people getting riped off! I my self make
money from my hands not by calling distributors and marking up parts 40 to

Who would have odd sized sheet metal? Looking for 4' x 10' or bigger sheets for my roof (less seams = less leaks)

American steel they come 12 feet on a lot of there stuff i think call them and ask i would not doubt you could get 30 feet on one sheet, it's off a mile roll or something

I used to be an inside sales guy for an Aerospace materials company, and I would always send customers to our sister company. They're located downtown Seattle.
